Project Life: Weeks 21, 22, 23 and 24
Posted: August 21, 2012 Filed under: Project Life 2 CommentsI have been really struggling with Project Life the last few weeks. I would sit down to journal and embellish…and nothing. Determined to make a dent, I sat down and decided to just adhere, journal, and go…
WEEK 21

Had fun with various combinations of photos and collages this week:
Also included a coin collector sheet with 2 x 2 Instagram photos of Ty’s Class Art Show. Easy, fun way to include massive amounts of photos in a weekly layout. I was able to get one shot of Ty’s individual piece and one of the class set up. A lot of love and time went into the set up and presentation of this art show. LOVE Ty’s teachers:
WEEK 22
A family date night: bowling started off one of our busiest week’s to date. A week FULL of lasts: last days of school, last practices, last games. Had a lot of fun with the end-of-the-year teacher gifts this year. Especially as it would be Ty’s last year in preschool, he’s been going since he was 18 months old…
Right side with inserts:
LOVE the comparison shots: now and then. It really is amazing how much they grow in one school year. Jake’s is this year’s first and last day of school. Ty’s is his very first day of drop-off-and-leave preschool and his last day…makes me weepy how fast it all goes.
Inserts are photos printed out as 8 x 12 and trimmed down to fit the 6 x 12 pockets. I cut out the words and used them as tabs…
WEEK 23
Looming at the end of the busiest week ever, was a trip away. Without the boys. The packing and laundry were daunting, but the time away was absolutely glorious. First time in YEARS…
Experimented with various textures, my favorite color combination:
Right side with insert. I cut the coin collector page in half, printed out the Instagram photos as a collage on a 5 x 7 page. Cut to fit. Journaled little bits on the opposite side of each photo.
Returned from Coeur d’Alene and went straight to work on our summer bucket list. Hoping to use the label maker for each bucket list item for continuity:
WEEK 24
A week of many adventures…
Linking up with The Mom Creative, it has been far too long…
Summer Bucket List Mini Album (and Project Life Update)
Posted: August 11, 2012 Filed under: Bucket List, Project Life, Scrapbooking 1 CommentI have fallen woefully behind with my Project Life. Photos have been taken, printed, cut out, and placed; however, I sit down to journal and embellish…and nothing. I have bought my second album. No matter what I do, I can’t seem to fit an entire year into one album. I decided to divide the first half of the year into one, the second half into another. Unfortunately, both albums sit…sadly alone. I am hoping to find my Project Life chi again in the near future…
Sad, unadorned Project Life photos…love the look of cutting a big photo to fit multiple slots:
In an attempt to “make” something, I decided to try a summer mini album:
A fun way to document our attempts at fulfilling our summer bucket list. Really LOVING my new label maker and loving that the labels bring the entire album together: one thread of continuity.
Having fun with different shaped and sized pages:
A whirlwind of last days started our summer off: last day of school for Jake, last day for Ty…
Last tee-ball game:
First pair of flip flops…
Beginning to knock out bucket list items and including bits and pieces of our summer in the album:
I love how the postcard and book cover add more to our story than a simple photo or journaling of the same:
I have always loved the feel and look of book pages. I think it will be fun to look back on these in years to come…
A small 4 x 4 double-sided photo to change up the size of the pages:
I intend to put the same “bucket list” label on each photo documenting its completion…
It has been a busy kid filled summer. It felt really good to get some crafty goodness completed. I am about half way through the mini album. Looking forward to sharing the finished product…
Project Life 2012: Weeks 18, 19, and 20
Posted: June 17, 2012 Filed under: Project Life 5 CommentsWEEK 18
In a valiant attempt to catch up, I tried to keep things simple, while stepping out of my color comfort zone. I used some sherbet colored papers and love the outcome, fun and bright.
Had a lot of fun incorporating bits and pieces of the latest Studio Calico kit:
Hand stitched heart, one of my favorite photos:
Simple title card, used the days of the weeks washi tape by October Afternoon to tie both sides together:
Right side:
Another attempt at hand stitching a journal card…
My favorite photo-scrapbooky PL addition to date. LOVE the yellow, blue, white, and kraft color combo:
WEEK 19
LOVED going back and reliving the week of the Half. The memories, pictures, and keepsakes still make me smile. Fun week:
I haven’t scrapped a full 12 x 12 layout in years but am really having fun “scrapping” the little 4 x 6 photo slots:
An example of forgetting where photos are to be placed and what was planned for one of the 4 x 6 photo slots. I typically keep up with the photo portions by printing, cutting and placing the photos in the sleeves; however, for some reason, this week’s photos were not all placed beforehand. I had one empty spot and found a maze page of Jake’s that fit perfectly.
WEEK 20
Having managed to complete three weeks worth, I lost steam when it came to the week 20 title card. I’ll finish it another day, but am really happy with the overall layout for the week:
Mother’s Day card by Jake:
Back to my teal/blue, white, kraft color comfort zone:
Whisker Graphics mini bag for journaling + some fun goodies:
I had two pictures I really wanted to include here but wasn’t sure how to get it done. I didn’t like the look of them side by side. After digging through some supplies, I found a vellum envelope…
And layered the second picture behind the first with a small, simple tag: voila. Done.

Project Life 2012: Week Seventeen
Posted: May 29, 2012 Filed under: Project Life, Scrapbooking 8 CommentsStill LOVING Project Life. Loving that it motivates me to take pictures and write down stories/silly things the boys say, most of all love the memories and stories that have been recorded to date…
Experimented with texture for this week’s title card. Super simple layering of two pieces of card stock. Also used my new washi tape stamps and absolutely LOVE them:
Included a photo out take this week, it makes me laugh every time I see it. I waited and waited for Ty to get a good pitch and hit the ball…and then totally missed the shot. Heh.
I am really liking the simplicity and look of the white backgrounds on the plain journal cards. I need to stock up on them, they are so versatile and fun to use:
One of my favorite parts of this week is probably the most simple: white card stock, two pieces of washi, a little transparency and some journaling…

Project Life: Week 16
Posted: May 21, 2012 Filed under: Project Life 5 CommentsI try to stray away from matchy matchy and it never works for me. I like to carry at least one color or element over between pages. Lots of red, yellow, and blue. A fun, bright week with lots of Instagram photos. I never seem to grab my big camera anymore…
Right side:
Attempted some hand stitching on this week’s title card. Need more practice, but really like the outcome. Not quite brave enough to try it on photos yet…
Love carrying over the journaling/embellishments between photos:
Finally got around to using my new Bananafish Studio stamps. LOVE them.
Simple collage of brother sweetness:
Project Life: Week 15
Posted: May 15, 2012 Filed under: Project Life 1 CommentHad fun trying some new things this week: placement of title cards and journaling. Kept it simple and fun:
Used a lot of the new Basic Grey die cut transparencies and some fun embellies:
I like the carrying over of journal cards to tell a story. Cleaned out our game cabinet in honor of spring cleaning, what a difference. So much more manageable for the boys and me:
I LOVE this Basic Grey transparency, went back for more today and apparently everyone else does too, they were sold out:
Two journal cards/pictures in one:
Is there anything more magical or sweeter than a sleeping babe??!! Love this, so simple, so sweet, so EASY:
Thanks for stopping by!

Project Life 2012: Week 14
Posted: May 1, 2012 Filed under: Project Life 6 CommentsTough one for me. Just never seemed to come together in a way that I liked. So, I am posting and moving on…hoping week 15 is easier. LOTS going on this week: Spring Break for the boys, busy, busy, busy:
Two additional inserts. First insert: 8 x 10 of random Instagram shots throughout the week.
Back side of 8 x 10. More pics and details of our week:
6 x 12 insert: super sweet moment at the first of two egg hunts. Ty wrapped his arm around Jake, broke down the egg hunt plan of attack, and reminded him to stick close by because he’d help him out…swoon:

Project Life 2012: Weeks 12 and 13

Wanted to keep things super simple in an attempt to catch up. LOVING Instagram for Project Life. I always have my phone and have started to rely on it far more than the DSLR, I need to make more of an effort to pick up the camera now. Most memorable event of the week: registering my oldest for KINDERGARTEN. Ack.
Trying to incorporate more of my story into Project Life and having a lot of fun with it…
Instagram madness. LOVE:
WEEK 13
An Instagram heavy photo week, did some experimenting with photo size and placement:
Insta-collage of a super easy activity (sticker dot tracing) I did with Jake, journaled below. Liking the simple date cards: easy and quick. I nearly died when I discovered washi tape at TARGET!! My two loves, combined, swoon.
Inspired by a library book, I not only broke my never buy a book for more than $2 rule, but I baked a WHOLE chicken. Crazy. And deserving of a prime PL spot, heh. Photo of finished chicken on the library card that can be slid out of the pocket.
Ty’s FIRST handwritten letter. To Grandma. Swoon. Had to include it. Makes me smile every time I see it:
Week 14 progress shot. Working on two inserts: a page of instagram shots and a 6 x 12 photo from one of our Easter egg hunts:
Thought I’d share how I am printing out my Instagram photos. I bought Collage Maker on the lap top. I upload the Instagram photos to iPhoto, then put them into a simple 2 x 3 collage. Save. Upload to Costco.com and order either 4 x 6, 5 x 7, or 8 x 10 depending on where I want the photos to go and what I want to do with them. SUPER happy with the quality and you can’t beat the price. All of the photos in my Spring Break page are from various 5 x 7 collages.
For 6 x 12 photos, I ordered an 8 x 12 print from Costco and trimmed off two inches…
For a perfect fit in a 6 x 12 pocket…
Week 15 photos in place, ready to go:
Thanks for visiting!!
Project Life 2012: Week 11
Posted: March 26, 2012 Filed under: Project Life 12 CommentsEverything just came together this week, I am really loving the outcome. Fun, matchy, but not too matchy matchy:
Kept it all super simple this rainy week. The boys had fun making their own forts in the playroom and playing hide and seek…I enjoyed a peaceful morning, in a quiet kid-free house Tuesday, it’s the little things:
More indoor fun while it rained. Cutting, pasting, painting. Trip to the library, included the receipt from the checkout. Friday was St. Patty’s day, Ty wore every single green thing he owned, down to his undies and soccer socks.
Simple title card, one of the boy’s book orders (loved the colors of it), and a fun way to tie together three of the middle journal spots:
Thanks for visiting.
Can’t believe we are already 12 WEEKS into 2012…

Project Life 2012: Week Ten
Posted: March 20, 2012 Filed under: Project Life 10 CommentsI blame Project Life for my desperate longing for an iPhone. Heh. It was love at first Instagram. Another busy week: returned home from Vegas mid-week and made the transition back to home life before preparing for Ty’s first t-ball practice and GAME. Two additional inserts this week:
Full week without inserts:
Our final days in Vegas and my ode to my newest piece of Mac awesomeness:
I can vividly remember thinking about sporting endeavors the day I found out I was having a boy. At that moment, it all seemed a lifetime away. Yet, here it is. Ty’s FIRST t-ball practice, game, jersey, hat…loving it all. Happened to get a great picture of him in his uniform, had it printed as an 8 x 12 at Costco and trimmed it to fit in the 6 x 12 sleeve, love that it also shows his toothless grin. Second insert is a thank you note from one of the boys, they had so much fun writing them. Tyson drew a picture for each person and signed his name, I HAD to keep one. I threw it in an extra favor bag and punched holes, kept it simple:
Love that this week captured the “many faces” of three. In our house, three makes two look like a cake walk. Oy.
Back side of the photo insert, a piece of Ty art:
Thank you for visiting!!
