!@#?

What I Wake Up To Every Morning…

The pic is a little blurry because Ty is playing one of his new favorite games- shake his head until he falls, which never takes long. Every morning, without fail, I get the smile and the mean case of bed head. Note that it was light enough outside to get a decent picture- a HUGE step for us as we usually have to turn the lights ON to greet Ty.

Ty is 13 Months Old…

His latest tricks:

* He no longer drinks formula…at all. He has completely transitioned to milk.
* He can say, “Hi.”
* He can climb just about anything, open just about anything…
* He will run to the garage if I say we are going bye bye.
* He will run to the bathroom if I grab his hooded towel out of the drawer.
* He will run to the kitchen if I ask him if he’s ready for a bottle.
* He is loving his blocks, books, trucks, and trains.
* He has also started trying to really “help” me sweep and empty the dishwasher.

He has 16 teeth!!!

Ty’s First Birthday Party

Our “One-train-ball” theme…the house all decorated and ready to go.
Our centerpiece…
Two of Ty’s favorite things: train and ball

The cupcake cake and hat *that of course did not get worn*

Cake action…

Yay. Opening presents in his new chair…

Getting some help from Nico and Solo…

Sadly…the party was over in a flash. I wish I had taken more pictures. Ty had a blast. It was fun to see family and friends…and to celebrate Ty’s first year.

Adventures of a Birthday Boy

We took Ty to a true East Bay hidden gem to celebrate his birthday- The Tilden Park Steam Train. The drive was super easy. No lines. Beautiful weather. Beautiful scenery. And lots of fun.
LOVING the train ride…the smile that makes EVERYTHING worth while.

Off to the Little Farm…

Feeding the cow…

The best picture I could get of the hat…all attempts to get it on Ty’s head failed miserably.

Very unsure and skeptical of the piece of cake…

Going in for the kill…

Not a fan of the sticky frosting. lol. He never took a bite. Wasn’t interested. Maybe it was the chocolate…

12 Month Milestones

Tyson has been incredibly busy this month…

* He now has 14 teeth…yikes.
* He can run, climb, dance, but can’t jump despite his best efforts. He throws his arms up and bends his little legs. No air. At least not yet.
* He “cleans up” his legos and loves to put things into containers. And promptly take them out.
* He loves to play with my broom and “help” me sweep the kitchen.
* He has become a pro at his big-boy sippy cups.
* He can hang with the bigger kids at the park now. Bigger meaning a few months older than him.
* He now sits forward-facing in the car.
* He LOVES his daily wagon/ride-in car rides.
* He will watch you perform a task…and then tries to copy you.
* He is an explorer, action hero, scientist, drama king…all wrapped up in one big-brown eyed boy.

Happy Birthday, Ty

I have read a number of similar posts from other mommies and, at the time, I wondered what the big deal was. I, I thought to myself, look forward to Ty getting older. What’s with all the sap.

Now, here I sit, the sappiest sap that ever sapped.

There really is something quite amazing in all that is accomplished in baby’s first year.

I wrote things down.
I blogged.
I took a ton of pictures.

However, when I search my brain for certain moments, my memory fails me. The truth is, there are SO many milestones, so many memories that have forever changed our family that it would be impossible to remember everything.

I can vividly remember this day one year ago- the anticipation of having a baby, the wonder of what he would look like, the fear of not having a name picked out, and the awe that the hospital was going to let US walk out with the baby. US. With a baby. The sleepless nights contorted on the glider, breathing very slowly, if at all, in hopes that Ty would stay asleep. Fearing a sneeze. The excitement of Ty’s joy as he jumped in his new jumperoo. And jumped. And jumped. And jumped. The sweetness of his nose as he nuzzled into my neck as he fell asleep. The new baby smell. The hours just staring at him…in complete amazement. Drool. The sound of Ty’s laughter. Drool. How proud we were when he finally figured out how to crawl…and then what now seems days later, learned how to walk.

It has been an amazing year and we are so proud of all that Ty has accomplished and look forward to all the exciting things in the years ahead. People tell you that having a baby will change things and they are right. This one adorable, active, curious, adventurous little boy has truly conquered our hearts….and our home. And our mini blinds. And our Tupperware drawer.

Happy Birthday, Ty.
We hope your next year is full of love, laughter, and lots of happy memories.

Love,
Mommy and Daddy

Ty’s 10 Month Stats

I know it’s about a week before his first birthday; however, his pedi was SUPER busy and we were just able to get in for his 10-month well check. He was sick off an on during his tenth month and by the time I called…today was the first available appointment.
SO, his ten month stats: lol. Okay, his 11 month stats:
23 pounds 3 ounces
31 inches long
He’s finally caught up, height wise, to many of his friends….

Ty’s First Christmas PART 1

LOVING his new ride-in car from Grandma and Grandpa. Of course, the super cold weather meant he had to wear his not-so-favorite hat, but he loved it so much he let Grandma take him for a ride all the way around the block. Keep in mind, it’s a “country” block…which means it’s about a mile and half or so all the way around.
Special gifts from Daddy’s trip to Hawaii…including a board book that teaches him how to say colors in Hawaiian. SO fun.
Riding in his new wagon from Papa G…

Playing with each and every single LEGO in the container…making sure they are ALL out.

Giggling at my voice on his new “cell phone”…

Note to self: Do not attempt to blow up a humungo dragon ball pit- BUY a PUMP, and do not buy a 100 piece lego set and a 170 piece ball pit set in the SAME year…imagine the world’s WORST game of 52 Card Pick Up.
